8 Carry weapons to guard yourselves.
9 You can have soldiers in your house but when there is a war you can’t.

Golden Island has had a history full of stories of war, peace and riches.
100BC: Golden Island was founded in 100BC by an explorer called Emma Coco and her amazing crew. She was very good at finding lots of islands. Emma Coco wanted to find more land because the Greek empire kept on wanting to expand and build a huge army. She was a very good explorer and one of the best. When she was on the island she found pure gold in a cave, and underneath the ground. Because of this, the Greeks were so rich that they could buy anything. The location of the island is in the south west of Africa. Furthermore on the island, she found an enormous volcano, blue shiny rivers, beautiful lakes, palm trees and enormously high mountains. It was a very beautiful and fertile island.
500BC: The Greeks took over the island. When the Romans heard about this it made them angry because they only had Italy and one other small island. They began to form a huge plan.
They decided to get all their soldiers and get on to the island. Their target was to get to the King of Greece and murder him while he was sleeping. They got to the palace and they got past the guards and then the Romans marched into the King’s bedroom and they killed him. Then the Romans took over control of the island
The Dark Ages 350AD:
Other barbarian countries planned to attack the island.
The Romans knew about this because they sent an agent to spy on their plans, and so all the Romans got ready with all their armour and swords. Everything was ready. Then they saw a lot of boats going into the port and they attacked. The siege took 400 years. Food supplies were going down, the army was going down and the swords were going down. Eventually the Barberians took over the island and defeated the Romans.
Dutch 1000AD:
The barbarians ruled for 300 years, and then the Dutch decided to bring peace to the island. So they gathered an enormous army and they were very strong soldiers and they had very good swords and lots of other weapons. They had huge boats with carved wood that would never sink because it had extra protection with solid metal. They arrived on the island and their target was to destoy all the guards and then the king of the barberians. The war took 2 years until it finished and the Dutch won the Battle and so their prize was the island.

King Elected 1600AD:

When the Dutch took over, the island was disorganised because they did not have a king. So the people decided to vote between three people. Their names were Tom Winehouse, Emma Whitman and Alex Cowered. It was a tough decision for everone but the day came and they all made their votes. In 3rd place was Tom Winehouse. In 2nd place was Emma Whitaman and in first place was Alex Cowered, he was now King.

Treasure Expedition 1800AD:

There was a very intelligent man that saw a book about all the treasure on the island and he found two lots. One was near the volcano and one was in a dark spooky cave and so he ran and told the king about where the treasure was and the book is not lying. So the king said to take 100 people to go and find it and so 50 went to get the treasure from the volcano and the other 50 would go and get the treasure from the cave. It took 1 year for them to find both treasures and come back.

The Wave 1992AD:

There was a boy who was going to a beach in the North coast of the island and they arrived a they saw that at the edge of the cliff there were some stairs and the boy and his family took three steps until in the distance there was a massive wave it was going to hit them and the people on the beach. The wave was so fast that it hit them before they could move to the car. From that day on nobody went to that beach ever again.

Rebuilt 2005AD:

Everything is rebulit all the houses and all the musems but some of the Ruins are still there for people to look at.

2009AD Democratic:

Golden Island has been renamed as Golden Island because before it was war island and the dutch did not like the name as now the island was democratic and everyone was peaceful.

2011AD Religion:

Every Religion is allowed on Golden Island and as everyone across the world can come to Golden Island, and that means we need to build a lot of hotels, musems and lots of other things for people to look at and stay there and enjoy the island.

Our sailing lesson was so good because we got to jump into the sea and as we were going to take our boats into the sea a boy in year 5 called Nicolay fell in as we were pushing and finally we set out into the big blue ocean and we could jump in and a girl jumped called Megan and she forgot that she had no spare clothes and so she went on the bus soaking wet but the sea was nice and warm and everbody loved it. One of the boats capsized ahad to bail the water out of the boat. But it was fun.
